Becoming a Member

Becoming a Beta Alpha Psi member is highly recommended if you are an accounting, finance, or information technology management major. The various professional, volunteer, and social events are organized to encourage the professional and personal development of our candidates and members.


To be initiated as a member, students must have served as a candidate for one semester. Students shall be considered for membership upon meeting the following requirements:




  • Accepted in the Lubar School of Business

  • Completed one major course beyond principles or introductory level (BUS ADM 301, 450, 335, etc.)

  • Declared a concentration in accounting, information technology management, or finance

  • Attained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 in all accounting, finance, and information technology management, including repeated course grade and either:

    • Cumulative GPA of 3.2 overall or

    • 3.25 GPA over the most recent 30 semester hours


  • Declared a concentration in accounting, finance or information systems

  • Has been admitted to the graduate school for a period of one semester

  • Completed a minimum of six semester hours
